THIMUN: THE HAGUE INTERNATIONAL MODEL UNITED NATIONS

                                                         When?                        January 24 - February 7, 2009
                                                                                              World Conditions Permitting

                                                         Where?                       The Netherlands (one week)
                                                                                             Homburg, Germany (three nights)
                                                                                             Paris, France (three nights

                                                          How Much?             $2000 per student on or before Nov. 1, 2008
                                                                                             Additional funds will be paid by each high school and Henrico County

Criteria for Consideration to be a Delegate

current sophomore or junior
must be 16 years old by January 20
high interest in international affairs
outstanding academic record
responsible, self-motivated, and disciplined student
works well with others, outgoing personality
good citizen
willingness to conduct independent research
willingness to take on additional academic work
ability to meet financial obligations
willingness to meet and befriend new people
respect for peers and teachers
good public speaking skills
interest / knowledge of languages and cultures
